Fear of social interactions and situations

SOCIAL ANXIETY

If you're in school and are socially anxious, chances are you fear raising your hand in class, even if you KNOW the answer. If you're not in school, but deeply fear having to interact with people you don't know well, you may be suffering from Social Anxiety. People who experience social anxiety often tell me they fear being judged, being wrong, being embarrassed or humiliated, or being the center of attention. Symptoms often show up as feeling or acting uncomfortably shy, being wary of talking to or interacting with others, and a reluctance to participate in social events. Treatment for Social Anxiety focuses on managing the thought processes and reactions to situations that trigger anxiety. Contact me to see how I can assist you.
